Greek Botanical Painting Course, 12th – 19th May 2022

The week will take place at the beautiful Mediterranean Centre for Art Gardens Plants and design from the 12th – 19th May 2022
The hotel Lagou Raxi with its stunning views and beautiful gardens is situated in the south west of Mount Pelion on the edge of the village of Lafkos. The Pelion peninsula is a beautiful peninsula in mainland Greece. Recently declared a new cultural heritage destination by the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO. There are whitewashed half-timbered houses in historic villages with fruit trees, olive groves, and forests of oak, beech and walnut. The network of narrow stone paths (kalderini) are great for walkers and we will walk some of these to find samples to paint.
The course will take place in a well-ventilated room with all the necessary health and safety precautions.
Both tutors are experienced teachers. The course will include demonstrations and talks with the opportunity for field sketching. Whilst the course will help students develop their painting and drawing skills, it will be relaxed and fun.
